Although most rules are arbitrary, some rules are not meant to be broken. Elder Mackey broke one of those rules recently:He was caught watching one of the recorded ordination ceremonies without permission, which is strictly forbidden. Elder Mackey claimed they were left in his room, as if someone wanted him to watch them.Elder Mackey was given a choice. He could endure disciplinary action from a member of the council, or he could be sent back to his mission and shipped home dishonorably. As the disciplinary process was explained to him, Elder Mackey unexpectedly pitched what looked like a painfully perky tent.Although he said his reason for choosing the disciplinary action was so he wouldn't have to return home early and face social suicide, it seemed rather obvious to everyone that the boy had other reasons to stay. Not that anyone is complaining. What was supposed to be a punishment, surprisingly turned out to be a reward for all of us. And for that, he was forgiven. Hmmmm... I wonder what other rules we can get him to break?
