This year's meat has been frog tied at the arms and legs to keep him tender and moist while he cooks and, of course, to keep him from escaping before dinner is done. The pumpkin in his mouth is a nice culinary touch, and has the added benefit of shutting him up somewhat. As a bonus, he looks cute drooling on it and making faces around it. He can struggle, protest, stare daggers, and roll his eyes incredulously all he wants, he's gonna cook up deliciously for dinner tonight regardless of how he feels about it.
