Evelyn is examined by doctors at the hospital. They are concerned about her irregular heartbeat, it seems to be fibrillation. So they decide to carry out a cardioversion. The defibrillator gives the first shock, the girl moans, but the doctors decide for a second. Her heart does not return to its normal rhythm and they continue to administer shocks to her chest.
