When you suggest 'weight gain denial' in response to Poppy asking you for new clip ideas, she doesn't seem on board with it. Not because the idea is bad, but because she doesn't think she's gained enough weight to pull off the concept. Poppy points out that 90% of her oversized old clothes still fit, that old pants only had a button fall off instead of 'popping' off, and even tries to argue that not being able to sit down in pants doesn't mean they don't fit, etc, etc. She can't possibly do a weight gain denial clip because she's just not fat enough to deny that she's fat, right? She thought gaining 30lbs would be more dramatic, and can hardly even see a change in herself. Maybe she's biased because she sees herself every day, but Poppy isn't seeing it. Just because other people have made comments doesn't mean that's the reality of things - because some people comment that she's gained at times when she really hasn't. They're living in their fantasy, and she thinks she's living in reality. Do you? Maybe once she's through her six minutes of rambling, defensive denial, you'll see it her way - Or maybe you'll be too distracted by her belly hanging over the edge of her pants when she leans forward to pay that much attention.
