To help shift her focus away from being afraid I ask her to count backwards from 100 for me. I open my laryngoscope, ready to proceed and then the scene cuts to Nina, intubated as I am adding tape around her mouth. I life her eyelids, checking her pupils, and after I place take over them too. Before surgery gets underway I take advantage of the final moments we have alone in the OR. Gazing at her, her face covered in tape, leads on her chest... I run my fingers over her body, appreciating that her nipples and nether region respond to my touch.  Cut to post op and I'm removing the tape from her face, she awakens before I can finish. Coughing and a little alarmed. I comfort her, promising to remove the tube momentarily as I remove the last of the tape. I have Nina cough and I pull out the breathing tube - she feels relief right away but still coughs a little so using the black beauty again I give her some oxygen. Looking down at her tenderly. I tell her everything went well, and that she did great. She nods sleepily. I pull down my mask and give her a soft open mouth kiss.
