I am the ruthless boss at a company which employs bad apples with bad records. Number 13 was contracted with my company several months ago and he has since stuck out as one of the worst performing recruits. I am at the end of my rope with him and have called him into my office for a little pep talk, a quick reminder where he came from, and where he is about to go if he doesn't pull himself together and start cranking out better sales. I also give him a nice token for his achievements, something to remind him for the rest of the day what he needs to be focusing on... Let's hope he learns something.
