After a long day of eating and consuming beverages I come home and try to relax by sitting on the couch. My stomach is feeling a bit upset and before I know it I start to get the hiccups. They are interrupting me mid-sentence and start becoming very annoying. Gradually they begin to bother me more and more, as they become stronger and stronger. Occasionally, they come out as half burps. I try holding my breath a few times, but to no avail; the hiccups just do not want to pass.
