A new experimental film needed proper casting. Several roles were so specific and difficult that several girls had already refused or failed to get the part. Lara was the last chance. She was a professional actress who could definitely do the role, but her arrogant desire for leading roles only made it difficult to negotiate contract terms. Fiddler, the casting director, heard a rumor that she was broke, which led her to take on parts in any films that paid well. Showing her the numbers really helped her make the right decision.
