Rachel and her step-daughter Katie came home from shopping to find a noose hanging from a beam in their living room. The grisly sight of it, and the knowledge that someone must have intruded into their house to put it there, left both women shaken and afraid. Questions raced confusingly through their minds. First, they wondered if the noose was merely part of a random sick stunt to shock them. But suddenly another question arose - scaring them to the brink of panic.
