Doing a training seminar for their department store, General Manager goes over an emergency on-the-spot defibrillator medical response. Miss Reed suddenly feels a crushing pain in her chest- like she's having a heart attack! Crying out for help, she does not alert anyone in time. When Jasper Reed collapses, Akira notices and rushes over as quickly as she can. She isn't breathing, she's not responding, and her heart rate is too low, so she does what she can: basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Jasper has been given some chest compressions, but she is still unresponsive. Akira realizes that waiting for 911 rescue could take so long that she may not live, and that simple chest compressions likely won't be enough now that she's still responsive. Defibrillator as a last resort. After asking for the defibrillator, she hurriedly wraps the adhesive electrode pads around her chest and gushes over the device as she attaches the pad connectors to each pad, making sure the other end of the wire is plugged into the machine. Akira taps the machine button after hearing the voice command "push to shock," and Jasper's body is quickly shocked by a jolt of electricity. After another round of CPR and chest compressions as hard as Akira can muster, and another shock from the defibrillator, Jasper still shows no signs of responding. Despite nearly losing it, Akira continues to give it her all in chest compressions with both hands, which are nearly going sore from too much pumping, while also trying to figure out if she's doing the compressions correctly or if she's using the defibrillator machine properly. She's about ready to give up hope, but she's keeping up with the chest compressions and looking at her heart rate on the defibrillator machine's screen, where she sees that it's slowly but surely rising back toward normal. Akira desperately pumps her chest in a timed sequence until her heart rate returns to normal, at which point she will stop until those eyes pop open until that heart's back on track, and most importantly until the sluggish ambulance finally rolls up.
